Operation Perfection: FAILED
So I made it all pretty so you’re thinking there’s nothing wrong with it, right?
Well…that’s not entirely correct. See the picture below? THAT is what it was supposed to look like. Why didn’t it?
Because sometimes I’m an idiot and I’m not as perfect as this blog makes you think I am. What?! You DON’T think I am perfect? Oh…well then. This shouldn’t disappoint you.
What went wrong:
I didn’t look at the pictures very long before doing the recipe, which says “Mix ingredients and chill”. Well then, I DID mix all in the blender. It calls for 1/2 cup pistachios, but it doesn’t SAY the pistachios aren’t actually part of the dressing, I learned that by looking at the picture. Since I used almonds, I ended up with a Lemon and Garlic Dip instead of a salad dressing. Since I’m out of lemons now, this actual recipe will have to wait. My final version was really salty sour tasting, so I added 1 tsp honey, 1 tsp prepared dijon and 1 tsp fresh dill.
Verdict: Maybe some will be left when Jon gets home.
But now I know, that I can blend almonds in any recipe and end up with an amazing dairy free dip. I guess it wasn’t a total loss, except to find out I’m not perfect, again. *sob*
